New Build Goes From Mud Pit to Polished Yard

New construction yards are rough. We're talking bare dirt, standing water, no structure, nothing. That's exactly what we were working with here - a muddy, graded lot with zero curb appeal and a house that deserved better.

We came in with a full landscape install plan. That meant a limestone retaining wall along the back bed to hold grade and add some real visual weight, concrete curbing to define the planting beds cleanly, fresh plantings with black mulch laid throughout, and sod going down across the full yard. Every piece had a purpose.

The limestone wall is worth calling out specifically. Natural stone like that doesn't just look good - it holds soil in place long-term without the cracking and shifting you get with cheaper block options. Pair that with concrete curbing, and the beds stay defined season after season without constant edging and re-mulching.

The lawn came in strong and fast. Getting sod down right after a new build matters. You need coverage quick to stop erosion and actually start enjoying the yard. The striped mow lines out back, the lush green from curb to house - that's what a proper install looks like when the groundwork is done right.
